April 9th

Day 3 9th April Paris

After a 13 ½ hour flight from Singapore we landed in Paris. After negotiating the various exits and collecting our baggage we made our way to our only constant for the next two weeks, our coach. Richard, our driver welcomed us with a cheery smile and soon we were on our way into perhaps the most famous city in the world, Paris. We drove around for a while looking at some of the famous sights, taking it all in. A quick stop for photo opportunities at Les Invalides, and then to the banks of the Seine for lunch and a boat cruise along the river getting a different view and perspective of the city. The Louvre, Notre Dame, Pont Neuf and the National Assembly are just some of the places we passed on this 40 minute taste of Paris. And of course the most sight in the world, the Eiffel Tower.

After a photo opportunities at the Champs De Mars and the Trocadero, we made our way to La Defense and our hotel. After a meal in the hotels restaurant and a view of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night it was an early night to catch up on those lost hours of sleep.

Touched down at about 7.30 am in Paris, all a bit tired. Caught our coach which was driven by Richard straight into the city of Paris. The old buildings, carvings, art.. WOW! It must have taken the men some time to create this beautiful architecture. Sightseeing places like the Opera House, Montmatre, the Louvre and of course the Eiffel Tower. Had a river cruise on the River Seine, which was amazing. The roundabout at the Arc de Triomphe was CRAZY!!! How Richard gets a bus in and out of there I will never know. Loved the window shopping. Taylor and I had to pay 2 euro each to go to the loo!! Neither of us had heard about paying to go to the toilet. We were a bit worried about what to expect when the young lad is standing there with gloves and a spray bottle. LOL
