Personal Details: Percy Edmond May was born in Elliston, South Australia, to Martha and Charles May in March 1892.  Before his time at war Percy was a laborer.
 
Enlistment Details:  Percy enlisted at Keswick on the 17th of March 1915. This was around about the time of his 23rd birthday. He was enlisted to the 16th infantry battalion which was apart of the 4th brigade.

Details about his role in War: Percy embarked from Adelaide on the 23rd of June 1915 on the ‘HMAT Borda’. He was taken on strength in Gallipoli on the 30th of July 1915. At 7a.m. on the 7th of August 1915 Percy was killed in action on the Gallipoli peninsula. It is said that he never even made it into battle.

Interesting Material:
Percy May’s belongings were sent back to his mother after his death. His inventory contained 1 pipe in its case, a letter and a knife.
