Personal Details:
Thomas Anthony Spurr was born in August 1887. He and his widowed mother Sarah Spurr lived in Tallangatta Valley, Victoria where Thomas was a labourer.
Enlistment Details: Thomas enlisted on the 14th of July 1915 in Tallangatta into the 29th Battalion of the Australian Infantry Forces.

Details about his role in War:
In January 1916 he was admitted to the 8th Field Ambulance with Pleurisy, 2 months later he was discharged to duty. On the 18th of March he transferred to the 5th Division Artillery as a driver in the 13th Field Artillery Brigade, later that day he was posted to the 49th Battery. On the 16th of June Thomas embarked Alexandria aboard “Rhesus” and disembarked at Marseilles on the 24th.He was granted furlough on the 11th of July in 1917 and rejoined 17 days later.
Thomas was killed in action on the 19th of October 1917 at the age of 30.
